Dr. Allyson Self-Stoico is originally from California but spent many of her formative years on the east cost. After high school, she received her B.A. in Biology from Drew University graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She attended medical school in Newark, NJ, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New New Jersey (UMDNJ) — now Rutgers — New Jersey Medical School. She continued on to complete her pediatric residency at UMDNJ — Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ, during which time she received the Mercy Ungino Compassionate Doctoring Award. She also was honored to be chosen as one of two Chief Residents for the Pediatric program after completing her residency.

Dr. Self-Stoico then moved back to California and joined a private practice in Bakersfield. After a few years there, she worked in Escondido, CA, before moving to the LA area and working as a locums physician for several years. While doing locums tenens, she gained a wealth of experience in private practices and clinics in Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties. After her time as a locums, she was employed by both Rose City Pediatrics and ChapCare prior to working for UCLA Health for four years.

Careerwise, she is Board-certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). In the AAP, she is also a member of the Section on Nicotine and Tobacco Prevention and Treatment. In 2019, she was chosen as one of the Top Docs in Pasadena. Additionally, she serves on the board of the Los Angeles Pediatric Society (currently as Vice-President).
